Houseplant Appreciation Day & Peculiar People Day

Alright everyone looks like today’s a two-for-1 day. It’s Houseplant Appreciation Day and Peculiar People Day.

Houseplants, plenty of people have them. They can either be real or fake but they all play an important part in the household, especially during winter. Plants and flowers help bring a pop of color, lovely scents (occasionally) and nature inside making any room feel instantly more homey (the good home.)

Today, use this day to show a little extra love to your plants by watering them with a bit of sugar which has been proven to help your plants grow better or give them a nice dusting since those leaves or petals are dust magnets. They help brighten the room and the people who are in the room. How can you not smile when you see pretty flowers or a great smelling plant in the room? You can’t.

Also, if you’re the type of person who talks to your plants then you fit well in this other holiday; Peculiar People Day. Peculiar basically means people who are strange, look strange or do strange things. Frankly, everyone is strange and peculiar so this applies to everyone. But this day, you will focus on the ones that stand out a little extra more: the guy covered in tattoos, the kid with the Mohawk haircut, or the biker chick the pierced tongue. Peculiar people are worth celebrating; they aren’t afraid to be different and are true to themselves.

Celebrate the peculiar people in your life by talking to someone who looks peculiar, you might become friends. Basically, don’t let appearances or quirky habits throw you off too much. Everyone is special and unique in his or her own way and there is nothing wrong with that. So open your mind and show the strange and weird some love. Also, if you are strange and peculiar yourself, then you’re a lucky person; be happy and know that today is YOUR day.

Have a great day and love who you are.
