Amy's Ice cream
Hi everybody. I'm finally back, but with some more news. I have finally gotten a job and it's at Amy's Ice Cream. This happening means i will have less time for the blog and therefore will be discontinuing this blog. No offense but I'd rather be earning money than sitting at my computer all day. So wish me luck and I wish y'all a happy life.

Break
Sorry to tell you guys this but I am taking a break from the blog for a while for the next few weeks. Things are happening with my family and I need to be there for them. I can't get into detail but I'm going to be too busy to do my posts. I will try to be back on before the beginning of March. I will try to continue to stay positive and I hope so do the rest of you. BTW today was Clean your Computer Day and Get a Different Name Day. Basically, clean up your computer, inside and out, to make it work better and last longer. Also, the other holiday whens that if you don't like your name to change it to something different that defines you better than your given name.

Abraham Lincoln's Birthday and Plum Pudding Day
"Four score and..."203 years ago, a great man was born on this day. Along with this day having something sweet along side this president's special day.
Today is Abraham Lincoln's Birthday. Abe Lincoln, our 16th president of the USA, freer of the slaves, supposed vampire hunter. This man has accomplished a great deal in his life and is probably the most well-known president we have ever had. It is a shame he was assassinated during a play at Ford's Theatre. if only he had gotten a review that the show stunk or something. If you want to celebrate President Lincoln's birthday, try reading Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. Or, if you want, watch Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and see Abe in a fun,not-so-serious light. Both are very good, personally I think so anyways.
Also, today is Plum Pudding Day. Seriously, if not for this day, you probably would never have even had a single thought that had anything to do with plum puddings, right? Yea, you know I'm right. Plum pudding, which sounds like something you eat during the holidays, is a sweet dish from Asia. Why celebrate plum pudding? Why not? There are holidays for cakes, pies, cookies, brownies and even chocolate mousse; we should celebrate the lesser known desserts too. Now if you want to participate in this day, that's fine and dandy, but it's not exactly gonna be easy. I mean, when was the last time you saw a package of instant plum pudding in the convenience store or supermarket? Unless you're in Asia, probably not anytime recently. So for your use, here is a recipe for you on making plum pudding.

Hope you are able to make and enjoy this treat. tell me if you like it or not. Truthfully, I have never had it before but I would love to know how it tastes.
So enjoy your day and don't forget, Valentine's Day is only 2 days away.

Make a Friend Day and White T-Shirt Day
Another good morning, another day for celebrating.
Today is Make a Friend Day. There are old friends, new friends, best friends, and frenemies (those are the worst.) But what’s important is they are your friends. And making friends is the best part of friends; learning new things about them every time you meet up, pulling yourself deeper and deeper into each other’s lives. Use this day to try and make friends by getting out there; go to the park, go to the community center, go to the arcade, the gym, anywhere, but try to make a connection with people and make some friends. Remember “A person isn’t made rich by the amount of money they have, but by the friends and accomplishments they’ve made in life.”
The holiday for today is White T-shirt Day. This may sound like a simple holiday but there’s more to it. White T-shirt Day was made in 1937 to show appreciation to all the people who took part in the sit-down strike at General Motors. The workers got help from United Auto Workers union and became the sole bargaining agent for General Motors autoworkers. Many people don’t know of this day except for those you were connected to the event, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate it. So make sure you wear your best white t-shirt or blouse.
So make sure you have a nice day today and hope the friends in your life are happy too.

Umbrella Day and Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day
Today is another two-for-1 holiday day. Both of which should be “uplifting.”
First up, we have Umbrella Day. The umbrella is one of my favorite inventions man has ever made (right after the GPS.) Rain is one of many everyday annoyances but thanks to umbrellas, you don’t have to worry about it as much. Not only are they a useful invention, but they are also a useful accessory; different shapes, different colors, different designs, anything to suit anyone. Let’s hope there’s some rain today so you can get a chance to use your umbrella. Or you can use it for its original purpose and protect yourself from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Yup, umbrellas were originally made for protection from the sun. Neat, huh?
The other holiday? Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day. You know that old saying “No point crying over spilled milk.” Your parents used it, your grandparents used it, and you probably have said it once to your own kids if you have any. This basically means that bad things happen every day or things that you didn’t expect to happen. There is no use getting upset about, the best thing to do is accept it and move on. Yes, things are not going the way you wanted it. Yes, you didn’t get that raise you were hoping. Yes, you got an F on your research paper. But is crying and whining about it going to change it? No. So what is the best thing to do about it? Accept it and keep trying. There is another old saying that I like that this one reminds me of; “If you don’t like how something is, change it. If you can’t change it, change your perspective on it.”
So for today, try to stay on the positive side. Don’t let life bring you down; be like an umbrella and let the negative parts of your day roll off you like rain drops. Be happy and choose to have a good day.

Toothache Day
Another day, another celebration. Although today is kind of…weird.
Today is Toothache Day. Why is it Toothache Day?...I have no clue. There is no real information on this day at all but that doesn’t mean it can’t be celebrated. Since today is about toothaches, try to learn about causes for toothaches and tooth decay. This could be a very educational process, especially for kids or people who want to become dentists. Also, if you happen to have a toothache on this day, get it checked out, don’t ignore it.

Boy Scout Day and Kite Flying Day
Good morning everyone. Today is another two-for-1 day with both 2 holidays that might bring you back to your childhood a bit.
Firstly, today is Boy Scout Day. This day, back in 1910, was when the birth of the Boy Scouts took place. Everyone loves the Boy Scouts, how could you not? My boyfriend was a Boy Scout and told me about all the cool sort of things they used to do like go camping, fishing, and all other kinds of outdoorsy stuff. If you were a Boy Scout or have a kid who is a Boy Scout, make this day special for you and/or them. The Boy Scouts are a great group that teach young boys important skills and keeps them off the streets.
Secondly, today is Kite Flying Day. Yes, kite flying, a simple but fun thing to do when the weather is just right. Though it is strange why today would be a good day to do this sort of thing since it is still cold out. But if you are lucky enough to have the weather perfect where you live (slightly windy and sunny) then go fly a kite by yourself or with your kids or your significant other. It’s a good way to bond with one another.

Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day and Send a Card to a Friend Day
Today’s theme: Spreading love and making friends
First today is Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day. Yes, there are a lot of neighbors out there who just are not likeable; my past neighbors played loud music, had people over at late night and had a rooster…I really hate roosters. But there are neighbors who can be good or you may not even really know that well. It is a good idea to try and make friends with your neighbor or neighbors. Imagine if you have to go away for a while but don’t want to leave your home unattended or you need a place to stay while you’re getting the house fumigated, being friends with the neighbor can prove good for you if you ever get into a sticky situation and need a friend. So try getting to know your neighbor or neighbors, there’s no reason not to do so. Or at least give them a friendly wave when you see them, and don't forget to smile.
And on a some-what related note, today is also Send a Card to a Friend Day. If you live far away from most of your friends or your old childhood friends moved away long ago, sending them a card is a fun way to stay connected. If you are too busy to type or write a letter, then cards are perfect for you. It’s says most of what you already want to say and you can add a little something personal to them like a drawing or a poem.
So focus on other people in your life and try connecting with them; it’s great to have friends.
Also, to all my friends back in my hometown and everywhere else, I miss you all and hope you are all doing well and are happy. Have a wonderful day.
